The Organization Department and the Graduate Work Department of the CPC’s NJU Committee, together with the School of Marxism, held the 2nd micro Party course contest of Nanjing University student Party branches under the theme “Celebrating the 20th National Congress of CPC through Youthful Eyes, Making A New Pledge to Strengthen Our Country”. This Contest aimed to thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, actively comply with NJU’s Forging Ahead Campaign, fully embrace the CPC’s education approach, carry out moral education as its ultimate task, and empower student Party branches to play the role of exemplary demonstration.
The final was held on Xianlin Campus in the evening of April 6. The micro Party course contest has lasted nearly six months since it kicked off. All Party branches at NJU encouraged students to participate in the competition, and a total of 45 Party branches of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students were involved. Finally, ten contestants advanced to the final after a preliminary round in the faculty, mentor’s training, and semi-final in groups.
The leaders and guests attending the final and award ceremony included Gong Yue, a standing member and director of the Organization Department of the CPC’s NJU Committee; Zhou Jilin, a standing member and director of the Graduate Work Department of the CPC’s NJU Committee and executive deputy dean of the Graduate School; Wang Jianhua, secretary of the CPC Committee of the School of Marxism; Jiang Yingchun, secretary of the CPC Committee of the School of Information Management; Yin Xingbo, deputy director of the Organization Department of the CPC’s NJU Committee; Wang Yongyi, deputy director of the Publicity Department of the CPC’s NJU Committee; Li Ning, deputy director of the Graduate Work Department of the CPC’s NJU Committee, as well as heads of relevant departments and offices and the Party committees of some faculties of NJU. Representatives of Party members from the student Party branches of departments and schools watched the Contest on-site.
Under the theme of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, participants delivered engaging and thought-provoking micro Party courses on ideological and political education to faculty and students. They utilized their expertise and practical experiences to innovate both the content and form of the lecture. It is important to review the progress of CPC and inspire Party members to keep moving forward. Contestants shared stories of individual and intergenerational members of CPC, highlighting the CPC’s original aspiration and aspirations. Through metaphors like “a drop of water” becoming “a road,” contestants emphasized that greatness starts with small beginnings. Recalling the Party’s leadership in China’s history can help us draw lessons and strengthen our determination. The micro Party courses emphasized the utilization of new technologies in national defense and also ecological civilization. Their captivating narratives, conveyed in simple language, evoked the CPC’s comprehensive endeavors that are in line with policies, and looked towards a promising future. The presentations of the ten contestants were brimming with expertise, vitality, unwavering conviction and relevance to contemporary times. These students showcased the latest efforts of NJU students to pursue their dreams, stay grounded, and contribute to the journey towards a modern socialist country.
The judges were impressed by the micro Party courses presented by the ten contestants and offered them valuable advice. Wang Jianhua pointed out that the lectures were well-structured, engaging, and demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility among students, as well as the guiding role of the Party branch secretaries. He also suggested that an effective Party lecture should integrate students’ learning and life experience, focus on events and figures, and be thoughtfully designed.
The final results were announced after the contestants’ presentations and judges’ evaluations.

The 20th National Congress of the CPC lays out an ambitious blueprint for leading China’s new journey and maps out the direction for socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. The young generation continues to play their part in this new journey and keep their vows of “pledging to the Party to make the country strong”. NJU students will align with the university’s motto of “Sincerity with Aspiration, Perseverance with Integrity”. They will work together to achieve their goals, study diligently to gain a competitive edge, take decisive action in response to challenges, and strive for excellence in the Nanjing University way. They will use their intelligence to contribute to China’s modernization and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
